So you found our Web Site; that's great! You are obviously curious about what's happening at our church and who we are because you were clicking on buttons and ended up here at the "Pastor's" page. If you got here by accident, that's OK too, but as long as you are here let me introduce myself.
I am Pastor Calvin Gittner and I am the new guy at Port Orange Presbyterian Church. I have the privilege of joining a wonderful staff. My wife Lee (Hixon) and I are both natives of the Daytona Beach area and graduates of Spruce Creek High School "class of 78." We have traveled a bit over the years; coming most recently from Melbourne, Florida where I served as the pastor of a local church for 8 years.
I am excited about continuing my journey of life and faith here at Port Orange Presbyterian Church; renewing some old acquaintances and making new ones. After going back to seminary and receiving my Doctorate in Ministry I am now able to articulate the essence of my Reformed Christian Theology; "Jesus Loves Me This I Know!" I hope to be able to share that love with others through the life of our church; helping people to grow closer to God and closer to each other. The whole focus of my ministry is to walk with folks on their Christian journey of life and faith.
I also enjoy a good cup of coffee and stimulating conversation.
